The 15th Annual Ira W. Sohn Research Conference will take place today at Jazz at Lincoln Center, NYC from 2:30-6:00 PM. We are grateful to the enitre Sohn Family, Doug Hirsch and Dan Nir who make this event possible each year for TCF. The proceeds from the conference underwrites the enitre Cure & Beyond Program at TCF. Thank you for all your much needed suppot to TCF. Without their support this program would not be possible.

Thanks to all the donors and corporate sponsors who pledged to support the 2010 Imus Radiothon on 77 WABC. With their help we raised $700,000 for Imus Ranch for Kids with Cancer, Tomorrows Children’s Fund and CJ Foundation for SIDS. We are grateful also to the over 200 volunteers who shared their time to answer the telephones and record pledges from callers around the country. Special thanks to Hackensack University Medical Center for hosting the phone banks and to the diligent employees who coordinated the installation of the phone lines. We also appreciate the generosity of John Policastro of Personal Touch Caterers who provided food for staff and volunteers! And, last, but most important our sincere appreciation to Don Imus and the staff at 77WABC who shared our message with their listeners.

On May 16th I will be riding 100 miles in the Montauk Century Ride for the Tomorrows Children’s Fund. I will be riding in memory of my brother Dennis, an avid bike rider, who died of leukemia in 1992, and in honor of my little friend Jette who is currently battling this disease, at the young age of 8.
The Montauk Century Ride begins in Babylon, NY and ends in Montauk, at the tip of Long Island. I have chosen to donate all raised funds to Tomorrows Children’s Fund in Hackensack, NJ, where Jette is currently being treated, and where my wife Maureen works with the amazing children that struggle through illnesses such as Jette’s. TCF was founded by a group of committed parents to help their children, and others like them, with cancer and serious blood disorders. Through donations, today TCF provides a warm, healthy, and loving environment for children in treatment; a full scope of services to relieve families’ emotional and financial stress; the very best possible medical care; and funding for research on the diseases. TCF believes that through hope, hard work, and heart-felt generosity, extraordinary things are possible.
I have witnessed just how much these children and their families go through, as well as the extraordinary work this organization accomplishes. Any contribution you can make, however small, will be appreciated. You can contribute online by going to: www.atcfkid.com , to donate directly to the Tomorrows Children’s Fund. Once there, click on “Donate Now”, and type in “Mike McLaughlin”, where it says: “In honor of”. Or you can send me a check made out to: Tomorrows Children’s Fund, at the address above.
Thank you in advance, for your consideration and generosity.
Sincerely,
Mike McLaughlin

On the day of her visit, Lauryn brought in a carload of party goodies – Mylar balloons, Cookies by Design birthday cookies, juice and many colorful boxes. Each birthday box was filled with age appropriate goodies guaranteed to put a smile on a patient’s face. Great job Lauryn!
